Gautam Gambhir is the lone Indian batsman in the top 10 list of ICC Rankings for Test batsmen, while team-mate Harbhajan Singh is eighth in the bowlers' chart.
Gambhir, with 771 rating points, is two spots above his opening partner and fellow Delhi player Virender Sehwag who is at the 12th place.
Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman jointly occupy the 16th spot in chart, which is headed by Shivnarine Chanderpaul of West Indies, who is followed by discarded Pakistani Mohammad Yousuf and Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara.
Among bowlers, apart from Harbhajan (686 points), Zaheer Khan (12th) is the only other Indian to feature in the top 20.
Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan leads the bowlers' list with 887 points.
South African Dale Steyn (845) occupies the second spot followed by Australian Stuart Clark (782).
India, meanwhile continue to hold on to their third position in the Test team rankings.
