It is common knowledge that Ambati Rayudu is a versatile player. But on Tuesday, the 25-year-old showed magical powers of recovery from an injury that had kept him off the field for four overs, after 'keeper Davy Jacobs was injured.

Rayudu, who had limped off the ground after pulling a muscle while fielding and was sitting in the dug out, sprang into action and replaced Jacob.

KXIP skipper Adam Gilchrist was surprised to see him back and had a chat with Sachin Tendulkar before play resumed.

“When you are out, you are not fit. I know there is no rule or regulation against it but a question needs to be asked: 'he is either fit or not fit?' Gilchrist later told reporters. “I will leave it to you guys to judge whether it's appropriate or not.”
