You have seen him scream in excitement on the pitch. You have watched him celebrate with his fists pointed towards the sky?
Ravichandran Ashwin, the star spinner India can rely on, has never failed to entertain on the cricket filed. Calm, composed yet lethal, he is Team India’s spin lifeline.
Did you know that sipnner who eveokes awe in opponents in fond of dogs. He has two Labradors and a mongrel. The family had a German Shepherd when Ashwin was young but gave it away as he was asthmatic as a boy. He champions the cause of indigenous breeds. He and wife Prithi are waiting for their two-month-old daughter to get a little older to welcome more pets into their house.
Ashwin jokes about his crush on Tamil actor Trisha Krishnan (right), who is a brand ambassador of the ‘dog adoption campaign’ he supports.
Despite spending considerable time with them, Ashwin is still unable to understand dog psychology. “Whenever I say something, they understand, but that’s not the case when they bark. It’s strange considering that man’s supposed to be the most intelligent being.” It’s a work in progress and Prithi keeps her husband informed with readings on the subject.
