Ray Mali, the Cricket South Africa president, has been appointed acting president of the International Cricket Council following the death of President Percy Sonn in May.

Mali, who has been president of the CSA since 2003, will remain in office until the Council's annual conference in 2008.

Mali will assume the newly acquired role with immediate effect which means he will have to step down as president of CSA, also with immediate effect.
