The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) chief pitch consultant Andy Atkinson inspected the Ferozeshah Kotla pitch on Sunday afternoon. The venue had been suspended from hosting international cricket following the abandonment of India-Sri Lanka match in December.

Venkat Sundaram, the Delhi & Districts Cricket Association’s new pitch and ground committee chairman, said the ICC official found a “sea difference in what he saw in December and what he saw now." Atkinson visited Kotla and held discussions with DDCA officials and the local curator after inspecting the wicket.

“We have been in touch with each other on email. Atkinson will continue visiting us and we are working in tandem to make the wicket of international standard,"he said.
