Playing his 387th match, Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to aggregate 15,000 runs in one-dayers. Sachin reached the milestone when he got to 50 against South Africa.
He made his debut against Pakistan at Gujranwala on Dec 18, 1989. He scored a duck in his first two matches.
His first half-century (53) was against Lanka at Pune on Dec 5, 1990. It was his 9th ODI and his first Man of the Match award.
He first opened against New Zealand at Auckland on March 27, 1994 when regular opener Navjot Singh Sidhu was declared unfit. He made a 49-ball 82 (15x4, 2x6).
That first ton
His first ton (110) came in his 79th match, against Oz at Colombo on Sept 9, 1994.
1998 was his best year: 1894 runs at 65.31, nine tons and seven fifties, a world record.
