Young leg-spinner Sarabjit Ladda’s (4 for 46) splendid spell set up the India Green’s victory over India Red in the Challenger Series for NKP Salve Trophy here on Saturday.

Ladda capitalised on the early breakthroughs by the new-ball duo of Dhawal Kulkarni (2 for 26) and Pankaj Singh (3 for 36) to fold up India Red to 185.

Except for Parthiv Patel (86), no India Red batsman could even occupy the crease for a while, let alone scoring at ease.

Once the bowlers had given the platform, the batsmen — led by free-flowing knocks by by S Badrinath (67) and Rohit Sharma (48) helped India Green overhaul the target with six wickets and 13 overs to spare.

The Greens face the Blues in the last league encounter on Sunday.

Brief Scorecard: India Red 185 all out (P Patel 86, D Karthik 29, M Mishra 20; S Ladda 4-46, Pankaj Singh 3-36, Dhawal Kulkarni 2-26) lost to India Green 187 for 4 (S Badrinath 87, Rohit Sharma48, S Anirudh 22; R Vinay Kumar 2-60, A Dinda 2-47) by six wickets.
