India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets to continue their winning run in the 2016 Asia Cup at Dhaka on Saturday.
14.3 Mohammad Sami to Pandya
Pandya flashes at a good length ball just outside off and edges straight to first slip, Hafeez juggles the catch not once but twice but holds on in the end!
14.1 Mohammad Sami to Kohli
Kohli’s been given lbw and he does not like the decision! Was there an inside edge? He walks off with a wry smile and that’s because there was an inside edge.
Over 14: 7 runs off the over. India 76/3
Over 13: 6 runs off the over. India 69/3
Over 12: 5 runs off the over. India 63/3
Over 11: 5 runs off the over. India 58/3
Over 10: 3 runs off the over. India 53/3
Over 9: A big over for India as they scored 15 runs. India 50/3.
Over 8: 6 runs off the over. India 35/3
Over 7: Virat Kohli plays some beautiful shots in the innings as 8 runs come off the over. India 29/3
Over 6: Just 1 run off the over, India 21/3
Over 5: 7 runs off the over. India 20/3
Over 4: 4 runs off the over. India 13/3
Over 3: 3 runs and one wicket off the Md. Amir over. India 9/3
2.4 Mohammad Amir to Raina
Raina moved forward and across to the off side to turn the ball on the leg, poor choice of shot when the ball pitches on a good length outside off and goes away from the left-hander. The leading edge lobbed tamely to Wahab
Over 2: 4 runs off the over from Mohammad Sami. India 6/2
Over 1: Huge over from Amir. Two wickets and two runs from it. India 2/2
0.4 Mohammad Amir to Ajinkya Rahane
OUT! Make it two ! Amir is on fire here. Almost a replica of the first delivery but this was right on off stump line. Rahane fails to put bat to ball and gets hit on the front pad. Another huge appeal and the finger is up, yet again.
0.2 Mohammad Amir to Rohit Sharma
OUT! THAT’S GONE! Serves a length delivery on middle. Sharma looks to defend off his front foot but the ball shapes back in to hit him plumb in front of the middle stump. Another huge appeal and the umpire raises his finger after taking his own sweet time. What a huge wicket this is! A rare duck for Sharma.
India need to chase down 84 runs to win after good bowling from Dhoni’s men coupled with poor batting from Pakistan led to their dismissal for just 83 in the Asia Cup encounter in Dhaka on Sunday.
Earlier, Team India skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first, encouraged by the green, hard surface and the fact that dew would play a role later in the evening.
For the Indians, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya were the star performers, Jadeja taking two wickets for 11 and Pandya claimed three for just 14 runs.
The Pakistan batting failed to take off, and were further hurt by their poor running between the wickets. Sarfraz Ahmed and Khurram Manzoor were the only two batsman to record scores of two figures, scoring 25 and 10, respectively. Extras accounted for 15 runs of Pakistan’s total.
