'India will soon be back on the track'

Team India's series loss against England in their country should be regarded as an aberration considering the team's performance in the past three to four years, remarked Shashank Manohar, who quit as president of the BCCI.

Team India's series loss against England in their country should be regarded as an aberration considering the team's performance in the past three to four years, remarked Shashank Manohar, who quit as president of the BCCI.

"We are confident that the national team will return to its dominant ways sooner than later," he has remarked in the BCCI's annual report for 2010-11. Manohar also acknowledged that the Indian team was going through a transition time and has suggested that the senior players in the national team should guide the juniors before handing over the reins.

"This is a transition time in Indian cricket. We have players who are in the twilight of their respective careers."
