The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Sourav Ganguly has been fined $40,000 (Rs 17.9 lakh) for his team’s slow over rate in the match against the Delhi Daredevils at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.
This was KKR’s second similar offence and another will mean a one-match ban on Ganguly. Each member of the team was fined $10,000 (Rs 4.45 lakh).
Jayasuriya allowed to cast vote
Colombo: Sri Lankan star cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya, who is a ruling party candidate in the parliamentary elections, was allowed to cast his vote a day before as he had to play an IPL match in India. The allrounder, who is contesting from the southern district of Matara on the United People’s Freedom Alliance ticket, was given special permission to cast his vote.

Mumbai: Bollywood star Sushmita Sen has sought to put to rest speculation about her relationship with Wasim Akram saying that she is not marrying the former Pakistani cricketer.
Reports had said that the former Miss Universe and Akram, who is in India as the KKR bowling coach, had grown close ever since they hosted a reality show together on TV two years ago.
