McGrath denies remarks on IPL return
Glenn McGrath, who is disappointed at not getting to play a single IPL match for Delhi Daredevils, has denied having said he would not come back for next year's edition of the tournament.
Australian bowling legend Glenn McGrath, who is disappointed at not getting to play a single Indian Premier League (IPL) match for Delhi Daredevils, has denied having said he would not come back for next year's edition of the tournament.
"I have read somewhere myself. But I don't remember saying anything like that," McGrath told reporters in Centurion on Friday.
McGrath, who has not played international cricket for one year, had said that he was not allowed to prove his match fitness in South Africa.
"I am contracted for another year with Delhi, but that is a long way away. Right now, I would not bet on myself returning," a disgruntled McGrath is reported to have said.
Only four foreigners are allowed to represent a team and Victorian left-arm pacer Dirk Nannes bowled brilliantly for Daredevils to keep McGarth out of the team.
