About his team’s match against Lahore Badshahs on Sunday, he said: “I am tensed about the first game, as if you win the first match it motivates you. I think my boys can beat them.”
Though he refused to comment on Sourav Ganguly’s retirement, the ‘Disco Dancer' opined that the former India skipper is “definitely” a Royal Bengal Tiger. “He is the most successful captain India has produced.”
Asked whether Eden Gardens was next on the ICL’s growing list of venues, he said: “Right now there is a hitch. Though the spots minister has given me an assurance, there still seems to be a problem. Our fans back home are upset with it.” On the fan following of his team, he said: “I think my club connects to every Bengali.”
