Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Monday that he had never said that cricket was game of betting.

“What I said was that due to betting the game of cricket has got a bad name and no one should be involved in betting”, he told reporters at Mandi.

Singh claimed that the statement given by him in this regards, a few days back was distorted by media.

When asked whether the state government would provide land for the National level Cricket Academy, the Chief Minister said that “let the proposal come to the government and thereafter we will think about it.”

Earlier inaugurating the second phase of Inter-State Bus Terminal, chief minister said that five bus-ways terminals had been completed at a cost of Rs 6. 66 crore in the state.
