No final decision taken yet: Ganguly

Highlight Story

Hours after coach John Buchanan announced the multiple captaincy concept, the rift in the Kolkata Knight Rider team came out in the open with Sourav Ganguly making it clear it was the coach’s decision and he would be answerable for it.

“I have got nothing to say on this (multiple captaincy). I won’t just take it in any manner. He (Buchanan) feels that’s the way for Knight Riders to win,” Ganguly said.

“There are lot of theories which go around in the game but at the end cricket is a very simple game. It’s the runs you scored, the number of wickets you take that decide the matches and I am sure it will remain the same way,” he added.

Ganguly also made it clear that the decision was yet to be taken on the issue. “The captaincy has not been decided as yet... So there’s no question of me getting upset. We will have to wait and see,” he said after returning to his Behala residence from the Knight Riders camp at Eden Gardens.

The Bengal star, obviously, knows that the buck will stop with team boss Shah Rukh Khan who will take a final call.
