Nothing but the perfect willow for fussy Tendulkar

The curve should be right, so must be the shape, its weight spot on and the feel familiar. No, its not Sachin Tendulkar describing a lady, he is talking about a cricket bat.
“I can get very fussy about the bat,” Tendulkar said in Mumbai on Friday. “For me, everything about the bat should be right and to my liking…its shape, curve, weight, etc.”
Tendulkar unveiled a new bat made by Adidas and said he would be using it from now on. “My inputs are important because ultimately it is me who has to go out and bat,” he said.
Tendulkar, who is set to complete 20 years in international cricket, said he had doubled the challenge thrown at him by Kapil Dev. “During my first tour to Pakistan, Kapil had told me if I completed 10 years in international cricket it would be a terrific achievement,” he said. “I took it as a challenge and have now doubled it.”
Returning to bats, Tendulkar shared with the audience how he had outsmarted his Mumbai Indians teammate Dwayne Bravo by identifying the latter's match bat that had been polished and made to look new.
“I just tapped it a couple of times on the sweet spot and knew this would be his match bat.”
Asked how he knew, he said: “I think the bat speaks to me.”
Tendulkar also said he had collected the bats with which he has scored centuries. “Yeah, it's a quite a roomful of bats,” he joked.
