India pacer Ishant Sharma was handed a one-Test suspension on Tuesday for breaching ICC's code of conduct during the third Test against Sri Lanka in which he got into repeated altercations with opposition players.
Ishant will thus miss India's first Test against South Africa at Mohali from November 5.
Sharma was charged under Article 2.1.7, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match".
