Even after making the most of his maiden Ranji Trophy cap, Rohan Raje could simply not hide the frustration of waiting in the wings for his debut.
He broke into the Twenty20 squad in 2007 and though he was always in contention, the bowler never really managed to get a look-in.
The 24-year-old was not even in the 30-member probables' list for the Ranji season but injuries to medium pacers Ajit Agarkar and Aavishkar Salvi threw him an opportunity and the bowler grabbed it with both hands.
Raje exploited the moisture in the wicket to claim three wickets in his opening spell and put the defending champions in the driver's seat against Railways in the Ranji Trophy Super league Group A encounter at the Mumbai Cricket Association's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) facility on Wednesday.
Left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla then grabbed four wickets to help Mumbai restrict Railways for 201.
The hosts had lost opener Omkar Gurav with 42 runs on the board at stumps on Day One.
