India thrashed Australia by ten wickets in the inaugural match of the U-19 quadrangular tournament in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. India chased down Australia's 163 in just 12 overs without any loss, making it the fastest ever chase of a total in excess of 100 in U-19 cricket.

India openers Unmukt Chand and Manan Vohra made mockery of the Australian attack by taking more than 10 an over from every bowler. The Aussies tried out five different bowlers in 12 overs they could send down, but none could succeed.

While Vohra struck 79 off just 35 balls, Unmukt smashed an equally impressive 72 off 40.

Brief scores: Australia 163 all out (James Pierson 51); India 167/0 in 12 overs (Vohra 79, Unmukt 72).
