Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s decision to retire from One Day International (ODI) cricket with immediate effect from Sunday led to mixed reactions among his fans.

While some fans were unhappy with his decision, many slammed him for taking the focus away from the demonstrations in the wake of the recent gangrape in the Capital.

“Somewhere Mayans were right about end of an era. #SachinTendulkar (sic),” tweeted Zapperoid.

A tweet by Malav Patel read, “Henceforth Cricket will be defined as: Before Sachin (BS) — After Sachin (AS) (sic).”

PR professional Sukriti Kalra, however, posted, “Sachin Tendulkar saved government’s PR at this point in time! What a sh***y move (sic)!” Faking News tweeted, “It will be a mega KL** for the government if Sachin Tendulkar joins Delhi protests now (sic).”

Gibssy174 posted, “After sachin tendulkar there will be no one to waste 100 balls from his 90 to 100 runs (sic).”

Stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhat took a dig at Tendulkar’s announcement. “One minute silence for all those Sachin Tendulkar lookalikes whose careers just ended (sic),” he tweeted.

Some fans also requested Sachin to play one last game.

“Sir Please give us the last chance to stand and clap for you, Last time in Blue Jersey (sic),” tweeted Pratik Srivastava.
