Jamaican Police have asked the Scotland Yard to send a team of detectives to help them in the Bob Woolmer murder investigation.
Jamaica's Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas has sought the advice of a team of Scotland Yard detectives to assist with the Bob Woolmer murder investigation, according to a report in 'Jamaican Gleaner'.

The team is expected to arrive between last night and this morning, the report said.

The move to take assistance from Scotland Yard comes after two weeks after the murder.Pakistan coach was found strangled in his hotel room, hours after his team was knocked out of the World Cup following its humilating defeat to debutant Ireland.

A senior officer of the Jamaica Constabulary Force confirmed the information that commissioner made the request through the Ministry of National Security.

"We have invited four senior Scotland Yard detectives to come and look at what we have done so far and to see if we are on the right track. We are making the investigations as transparent as possible," the senior officer was quoted as saying in the newspaper.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of crime, Denver Frater, said the Scotland Yard officers will be reviewing the investigations and will offer support where it is necessary.

"At the moment, we are trying to get additional information and continue what we have been doing," said ACP Frater.
