Sehwag in his own words

Highlight Story

Virender Sehwag will join the elite 100-Test club when he walks out to the middle at the Wankhede. Here is the man in his own words.

The pull and hook from Rahul Dravid

The toughest aspect of cricket
Batting after fielding for a long time; it is mentally tiring and the legs don't move.

Pre-match preparation
I watch vidoes of earlier games on laptop, do a lot of visualisation, analyse the pitch and bowlers.

You do regular yoga
It is good for relaxation but one is required to keep the mind clear in different asanas, which is difficult.

Your style at the crease
Always front foot, attack the bowler and put him on the defensive. I favour a middle-stump guard. Occasionally I take a stance with the bat resting between the feet. I don't change my bat during an innings whatever the pitch or match conditions.

Your all-time hero
Sachin Tendulkar, the God of cricket. Nobody comes close to him.

How life has changed
I used to travel in a bus for training, I then got a Vespa scooter. I now have many good cars; have not travelled in a train for almost ten years.

As told to Amrit Mathur (Delhi Daredevils official)
