The joy of chief selector K. Srikanth knew no bounds on Wednesday. He hailed India's win over Australia as “sensational' and “great news for the future of Indian cricket”.
He reserved special praises for youngsters like Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay, who played a crucial role in India's win. “One thought Pujara would be nervous to come in at number 3 in such trying circumstances. He, however, showed tremendous confidence and temperament to make his mark,” he said. “Vijay too did well and showed that he has it in him to be consistent against one of the best sides,” he added.
The chief selector also made special mention of Tendulkar. “His double hundred set up the game for us,” he said.
