Sri Lanka has included three uncapped players in its 15-man squad for the first cricket test against Pakistan starting this week.

Led by Kumar Sangakkara, the squad announced on Tuesday contains seven specialist batsmen, four seam bowlers, two spinners and an allrounder. Kaushal Silva was added late to the squad as a specialist wicketkeeper because Prasanna Jayawardena will miss the first test with an injured finger.

In 66 first class games Silva has taken 178 catches, 23 stumpings and averaged more than 40 as a batsman.

Allrounder Anjelo Mathews, who impressed with bat and ball in the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup in England, has also earned a spot in the test squad. He has a batting average of 55 in 29 first class matches and has taken 30 wickets.

Suranga Lakmal, who made the squad to tour Pakistan in March but did not play a game, has also been recalled. Lakmal, a fast-medium bowler has picked up 57 wickets in 16 first class matches. The first test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan starts in Galle on July 4.
