Shah Rukh Khan believes the failures of this year will be the pillars of success for his IPL Kolkata team next year. In the city to see how his boys fare in the last match and also to discuss the future course of action with the team management, the actor on Sunday also had a meeting with chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
"I have done many films, some huge hits and some flops. I know the taste of failure and unless you know it, you wouldn't find the way to success. This was the first year and I will be associated with my team for many years. The captain, coach and I will talk on how to use foreigners like McCullum, Ponting and Gayle for the whole competition next year."
This may not be in their control however, as for all foreigners to be available for the IPL, the competition has to be a part of the ICC's Future Tours Programme. Otherwise, chances are that players from some country or the other will always be busy with national commitments, like it happened with those from Australia, New Zealand, West Indies and England this year.
The actor said he and other co-owners of the team -- Jay and Juhi Mehta -- met the chief minister not to ask for tax waivers, but to thank him for administrative helps.
He also thanked the police and Cricket Association of Bengal while disclosing that the chief minister had presented him a pack of Darjeeling tea.
