India’s limited-overs captain M S Dhoni chose to drive his Hummer instead of boarding the team bus, leaving some New Zealand players gawking at his Rs 75 lakh car at Birsa Munda International Airport in Ranchi on Monday.
The 35-year-old World Cup winning captain reached Ranchi, his hometown, along with his team mates, for the fourth ODI on Wednesday where India aim to pocket the series.
Dhoni, who owns an extensive collection of imported cars, started for home from the airport in his Hummer H2 2009 edition, leaving New Zealand batsmen Tom Latham and Ross Taylor looking stumped.
India are leading the ODI series against the Black Caps 2-1. Dhoni is riding high after a 91-ball 80 in Mohali which helped India secure the lead.
He also reached a milestone of 9,000 runs in Mohali, becoming the first to achieve the feat with an average of 50 or more.
Dhoni was ranked 23rd on the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid athletes in 2015.
