Controversial all-rounder Andrew Symonds retained his annual contract which saw six new faces included in the list released on Thursday.
Callum Ferguson, Phillip Hughes, Graham Manou, Marcus North, Andrew McDonald and Peter Siddle were included in the 25-member list while the retired duo of Matthew Hayden and Stuart MacGill, along with Beau Casson, Phil Jaques, Ashley Noffke, Shaun Tait and Adam Voges did not have their contracts renewed.
"The NSP (National Selection Panel) is extremely happy with this 25-strong contract list. It's obviously an important time for Australian cricket with the Ashes on the horizon," selection committee chairman Andrew Hilditch said in a Cricket Australia release.
"It's obviously a very exciting time for players receiving their first contract, such as Phillip Hughes, who has had an outstanding start for Australia and will have an important role in the team's future," he said.
The players were nominated based on their form over the past one year and their likelihood of getting selected to the national team over the next 12 months.
