Former Australia wicketkeeper, Adam Gilchrist, said that despite Sachin Tendulkar's string of easy dismissals, he would be the best judge to decide when to retire.
Gilchrist said it was humanly impossible to maintain top form, especially when a career spans more than two decades. "I am sure he (Tendulkar) is aware that he is not at the peak of his career, but he warrants a place in the side.
It is up to him to decide (about his career)," said Gilchrist at the launch of the Don Bradman scholarship.
Gilchrist also approved of the decision to award the Australia Order of Merit to Tendulkar.
"The award indicates his high standing in both countries. I sent him a message welcoming him. We are fortunate to have him."
