TV footage sent to Britain

cricket Updated: Apr 13, 2007 02:12 IST

Highlight Story

Footage of the CCTV on the 12th floor of the Jamaica Pegasus hotel has been sent to a laboratory in Britain by Scotland Yard detectives.

The Jamaica Gleaner quoted a member of the investigative team who stressed that experts in Britain will take a “deeper look” at the footage, among other items of interest.

A team of investigators was locked in a meeting until late Tuesday night and the reports said it was nearing some conclusion on the case. Local detectives earlier had spent hours transferring the footage from VHS tape into a digital format.

Reports regarding the CCTV footage not being very clear were, however, once again denied by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mark Shields who said he could easily identify people who traversed the corridor on the 12th floor.

Inzy slams security at hotel

Islamabad: Inzamam-ul Haq criticised the security at the Pegasus hotel where Woolmer was found dead.
Inzamam said if the murder had happened in Pakistan, there would have been a big fuss abroad. “Four international teams were staying in one hotel — what security arrangements were made for them? There should be an investigation,” Inzamam said in an interview broadcast on Thursday.

“We should raise this question with the World Cup hosts,” he added.
