Highlight Story

Ignored by the selectors for India A’s tour to New Zealand, Robin Bisht sent a fresh reminder as he notched up a century against a Rest of India attack that has three India Test bowlers, in Bangalore.

While Umesh Yadav ran through the Rajasthan line-up picking up five wickets, Ishant Sharma impressed with two wickets. Pragyan Ojha, however, failed to take a wicket.

Against this attack, Robin provided the only face-saving effort from Rajasthan, notching up 117 even though they were bowled out for only 253 just before close.

Bisht, who had hit over 1000 runs in the Ranji season with four centuries, was picked for India A tour to the West Indies but could get only one match there. For some inexplicable reason, he was dropped for the tour to New Zealand as the selectors came up with a few surprise selections.

Brief scores

Rajasthan 1st Innings: 253 (Robin Bisht 117, Dishant Yagnik 40; Umesh Yadav 5/55) vs Rest of India 1st Innings: 2 for no loss.
