A sparkling century by young Tanmay Srivastava helped India Blue win the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy, registering a thumping 140-run win against India Green at the Holkar Cricket Stadium here on Monday.

Left-handed opener Tanmay scored a run-a-ball 103 with the help of nine fours and a six, helping India Blue pile up a challenging 287 for 7.
After putting up 67-run opening wicket partnership with Shikhar Dhawan (44), Tanmay steadied the team’s innings further with another solid 97-run fourth-wicket partnership with Manoj Tiwary (84, 73b, 7x4, 1x6) as India Blue chose to bat first after winning the toss.

In reply, the India Green batsmen found the going tough against the pace of Rudra Pratap Singh (3/20) and then the leg spin of Piyush Chawla (3/45) before collapsing for a paltry 147 in 36.4 overs. Robin Uthappa top scored with 30, with four hits to the fence.

Brief Scores: India Blue 287 for 7 (T Srivastava 103, M Tiwary 84, S Dhawan 44, A Mithun 3 for 70, S Ladda 2 for 45) beat India Green 147 all out (R Uthappa 30, S Anirudh 24, K Jadhav 20, RP Singh 3 for 20, P Chawla 3 for 45, VY Mahesh 2 for 28).
