Virat Kohli is not used to bad days at office, for him which is a 22 yard strip in a cricket stadium. So, when the Indian cricket team captain got out for 0, his first since 2014, on the second day of the first Test against Australia, it came as a shock.
The high standards that Kohli has set for himself only made the fall seem harder. However, the same day, the Indian cricket team captain rose to a new height as he was named the Test captain of the year by cricket website ‘ESPNCricinfo.’
Kohli, who before the Australia Test in Pune, led India to a 19-Test unbeaten run has averaged 63.96 as captain.
His 19-Test unbeaten run is also the most by any Indian team ever in Tests.
Even Virender Sehwag, who has played with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid said kohli’s team was the best one.
“The balance that this team has, the quality of their fast bowlers and spinners accompanied by the batting firepower makes this the best Indian team. This team has the capability of winning a Test series abroad,” Sehwag said.
But Kohli was given a reality check in the first Test against Australia as the hosts lost by 333 runs.
