Delhi IPL team skipper Virender Sehwag on Saturday said his team has to put up a better show to beat Yuvraj Singh-led Mohali team when they face them at the PCA stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.
“They are a good side and they did well in couple of games. For us, every match is challenging and we will have to put up a better performance,” Sehwag said at a joint press conference along with rival skipper Yuvraj Singh.
The Delhi team are unbeaten in the tournament and have two comprehensive nine-wicket wins behind them – against Jaipur and Hyderabad teams. Sehwag blasted an unbeaten 94 against Hyderabad while McGrath and Mohd Asif kept the rival batsmen under check.
The Mohali team lost its first two matches against Chennai and Rajasthan but is on a high after beating Mumbai on Friday.
Yuvraj, on being asked if they had any plans to contain Sehwag said, said they have thought about it.
“I feel every team has its own plans, but whosoever manages to execute them at the right time is the one who finishes on top,” he added without elaborating.
The Mohali team coach Tom Moody said his team was high on confidence after last night’s win over Mumbai.
Asked if their right-arm pacer Sreesanth was feeling okay after last night’s unsavoury incident involving him and Harbhajan Singh, he said, “Sree is fine”.
“Everybody is concentrating on tomorrow’s match,” said Yuvraj.
