Weather denied the West Indies a chance to register their first win against Australia in the five-match ODI series.
The visitors had a decent chance to cut down on the 2-0 lead the hosts have taken in the series after Ravi Rampaul’s 4 for 61 restricted Australia to just 225. However, they had just scored six runs when the skies opened up and the match had to be stopped.
The visitors now need to win the last two matches series to level the series.
Earlier, the West Indies bowlers ripped apart the Australian top order to reduce them to 78 for 3. However, Michael Clarke (46) and Mike Hussey (44) came together to stem the rot and put the team back on track.
The duo, too, could score just enough to help Australia cross the 200-run mark. Later, the West Indies were given a revised target of 151 in 24 overs, but the rain came back again.
