After the disappointing exit of their male counterparts from the World T20, West Indian women cricketers said they were determined to make up for men’s poor show but they needed overwhelming support.
West Indian eves will take on the in-form New Zealand in the second semi-final of the Women’s World Twenty20 here on Friday. Keeping in mind the huge task at hand, all-rounder Stafanie Taylor has urged the countrymen to come out in numbers to support them. “We need the support and I can promise that we will give everything we have in an effort to get to the final. We want people to come along in big, big numbers and bring their cheers just as they would for the guys.”
The locals who saw their men’s team being bulldozed by Australia have been reminded by Taylor that the region still has a team left in the event.
