Umesh Yadav's euphoria of being selected for the World Twenty20 to replace Praveen Kumar had turned to despair when he learnt that the paperwork would take longer than expected.

In fact, Yadav's flight to the Caribbean never took off with India knocked out of the tournament after losing all three games in the Super Eights. even if the 2007 champions had sneaked into the last-four by beating Sri Lanka on Tuesday night, the Vidarbha pacer would still have not made it.

"Yadav’s transit visa for the United Kingdom has still not come," a top BCCI official said.

While Yadav did not return numerous calls made on his cell phone, the Vidarbha Cricket Association officials confirmed the player was in Nagpur but said they were unaware of any further communication between the Board and the Yadav.

Yadav has also been picked in the squad for the Zimbabwe tour that begins on May 28.
