Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt could soon face the wrath of PCB chief patron and country's President Asif Zardari, who is unhappy with his performance.
Sources in the sports ministry and the government confirmed on Friday that a comprehensive report on the performance of the board during Butt's tenure would be submitted to the chief patron soon.
"There is a lot of disappointment in the Presidency and ministry over the way cricket matters are being handled by Butt specially after another former Test captain Aamer Sohail also resigned last week unhappy with the working of the board," a reliable source told PTI.
"The carelessness shown by the board and security agencies which resulted in the attack on the Sri Lankan team in March and which badly damaged the country's image had already upset many people in the government but it was felt Butt should be given more time to settle down," the source said.
But he said some members of the board's governing council had given negative feedback on Butt.
"The feedback is that Butt is too old and does not have the temperament to represent Pakistan in international cricket forums or foster better relations with member countries," the source disclosed.
