Zinta flags off Kings Cup

Preity Zinta, a co-owner of the Punjab team, announced the launch of T20 Kings Cup, a talent hunt tournament beginning in Chandigarh from Wednesday, reports HT Correspondent.

Preity Zinta, a co-owner of the Punjab team, announced the launch of Twenty20 Kings Cup, a talent hunt tournament beginning in Chandigarh from Wednesday. Five teams, two from Punjab and one each from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, will participate in the tournament, carrying a cash prize of Rs five lakh.

"The tournament is a part of our endeavour to promote the sport at the grassroots level. There's abundant talent in our catchment area and we hope to groom and spot players meeting our requirements," she said.

The franchisee also intends to start an academy in near future.
