Pakistan has not yet received any report from its High Commissioner to Britain on the alleged involvement of some Pakistani cricketers in a spot-fixing scandal, Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said today. Responding to a question about the spot-fixing scandal during a weekly news
briefing, Basit said investigations into the matter are still on and Islamabad has not received any report in this regard from its envoy in London.

Pakistan is ready to send a team of investigators to join the probe but is yet to receive a response from Britain to its request in this regard, Basit said.

Cricketers Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Amir and Salman Butt are at the centre of an alleged spot-fixing scandal exposed by British tabloid News of the World.

The tabloid reported it had paid 150,000 pounds to an alleged fixer for three no-balls bowled by Asif and Amir during a Test match with England.
