Ranji Trophy games being scheduled at neutral venues in the 2013/14 season is a possibility, according to the BCCI's technical committee. The recommendation was put forth during the captains and coaches conclave on March 5 in a bid to have better quality pitches.

"In the coming season, we don't have much international cricket in India. It is important that we identify the neutral venues," said Anil Kumble, chairman of the technical committee.

Another point stressed on was the need to increase the number of days between games. The three-day gap in the 2012/13 season, some believed, was the reason for frequent injuries.
