There is no guarantee that Sachin Tendulkar will get to play his 200th Test in front of his home crowd at the Wankhede Stadium as yet because any decision on the venue is yet to be taken, a Mumbai cricket official said.

“It will be decided as per the rotation policy of the Board. There’s no guarantee we will get the match,” MCA president Ravi Savant said.

The BCCI’s decision to host West Indies for a two-Test and five-match ODI series is not part of the Future Tours Programme of the ICC as India was scheduled to tour South Africa. It is being reported that Mumbai and Kolkata are likely Test venues.

One of the two matches, probably the second as that would coincide with the 200th appearance in the longest format of the game, is expected to be held at Tendulkar’s home ground. Wankhede last hosted a Test in November last year against England.

The subsequent home series against Australia was played at Chennai, Hyderabad, Mohali and Delhi in February-March.
