Not many gave India a chance when they came out to chase 359 against a bowling attack which had blown them away a couple of day ago. However, led by opener Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 141, the hosts cantered home to square the series.
“It is India’s best chase that I have been part of and I am very happy that I contributed towards it,” said Rohit after being named the man of the match. “I knew with the rules where five fielders have to be inside the ring, any total can be chased and we had the batting line-up to do it. Having big partnerships is the key and that is what we did.
“Then, we knew there would be dew as well (which makes it difficult to grip the ball). But, we never thought we could win by nine wickets.
