Yoga guru Baba Ramdev reached Haridwar on Tuesday, months after he had the left holy city with a pledge that he would return to Patanjali Yogpeeth only once the Congress loses the polls.
Ramdev was in town on the occasion of attaining 20 years of sainthood. He, however, did not enter inside Patanjali.
The yoga guru, who is facing more than 80 cases slapped by the Uttarakhand government, said the corrupt Congress should be removed at any cost. Ramdev claimed the BJP is going to win all five seats in Uttarakhand, the “abode of gods”.
He continued his tirade against the Congress and said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal is a puppet of the Congress and Sonia Gandhi.
“I had vowed that I will return to Patanjali only when Congress is removed. Therefore, I am sitting outside,” said Ramdev, who participated in a programme that was arranged to memorise his sainthood.
Ramdev’s Patanjali Trust has Patanjali University in Haridwar, besides a food park and an Ayurvedic centre.
He repeated his support to the BJP and Narendra Modi and asked his supporters to choose candidates of a political party with a “strong character”.
