The candidates of Tehri Lok Sabha constituency exercised their right to vote on Wednesday, and proudly so. While Congress candidate Saket Bahuguna and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Anoop Nautiyal, along with their families, exercised their franchise in the capital, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Mala Rajyalaxmi Shah cast her vote in Narendra Nagar.

BJP’s Haridwar candidate Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank cast his vote with his daughter Aarushi in the capital, and later left for his constituency. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Shishpal Singh and Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Kunwar Japinder Singh too cast their votes in the city.

Saket started his day late. The last day of campaigning was hectic for the young Bahuguna. After waking up, he prayed to god and had breakfast with wife Gauri and father Vijay Bahuguna, the former chief minister and senior Congress leader. Saket cast his vote only at 10.30am.

The BJP candidate from Tehri seat, Shah, voted at the Government Girls Inter-School in Narendra Nagar around 10.30am. She woke up at 8am and thereafter prayed and left with her husband Manujendra to exercise her right to vote.

Similarly, AAP’s Tehri LS candidate Anoop Nautiyal sought blessings of his mother Sumitra at his residence in Vasant Vihar. His wife Divya applied tilak on his forehead to wish him luck. They later left for SGRR Senior School in the same area to cast their ballot.
