Fifteen people, including 10 schoolchildren, were injured in two separate accidents in Narela and Rohini area of outer Delhi on Friday.

In the first incident, a van of Vikas Bharti School turned turtle after being hit by a Maruti Swift car in Rohini Sector 24 on Friday afternoon. Police said the van driver was turning the vehicle towards the left when it collided head-on with the speeding car.

"There were 10 children in the van, which was going to drop them home. The vehicles collided at Rohini Sector 24 crossing," said a senior police officer.

The children were taken to the nearby Saroj Hospital. Their condition is stable, police said. The errant car driver fled after the mishap. "We have impounded the car and will trace its owner soon," the officer added.

In another case, five persons suffered minor injuries after a DTC bus they were travelling in allegedly met with an accident.

"The incident took place on Thursday night. A bus plying on route No. 131 from Narela to Azadpur was speeding and could have fallen in a drain, but it stopped after hitting a tree," said a senior police officer. The victims, who suffered minor injuries, were taken to Raja Harishchandra Hospital. They have been discharged.
