19-year-old finds joy in teaching poor children
Hindustan Times Paathshala volunteer Harsh Nirmal says the experience cheers him up
Harsh Nirmal is just 19 and very early in life he has understood the reasons that give him joy. It is not fancy things but the thing that gives Nirmal happiness is teaching the underprivileged children.
He has been able to realise of this happiness after volunteering for Hindustan Times Paathshala. He now teaches students of classes 3-5 at NGO Pratham’s centre in Mangolpuri.
“I came to know about HT Paathshala through Facebook, later my friend recommended me to volunteer for it. The time I spent teaching the children has brought me closer to them. The way kids welcome me and eagerly wait every week to learn something new from me, cheers me up very much,” said Nirmal.
