A day after they came out in support of honour killings in their village, two men were arrested by Delhi Police under preventive sections.

The two men, identified as Dharamveer Nagar and Nitin Khari, were arrested by the police on Thursday and a warning issued to other villagers not to make such statements.

Nagar, uncle of Mandeep Nagar, the main accused in the triple murder case had told television channels on Wednesday, "Apne aap mein khoon galat ho sakta hai, par samaj ke liye yeh murder zaroori tha. Is kaam se in ladkon ne ek accha udaharan diya hai (There is nothing wrong in what happened. This will act as a precedent and warn others to not do what those three did)."

The other accused, Nitin, had told reporters, "What those three did was wrong and they paid for it with their lives. The whole village will keep fighting against such immoral acts."

However, villagers have decided to provide all help to the accused. "They are innocent and we will help them,” added Suresh Khari (50).

Khushboo blamed for arrests:

Residents of Wazirpur village blamed Khushboo, the youngest sister of main accused Mandeep Nagar as being behind the arrests. "It was Khushboo who provided the police information about the movement of the three men. She is the one behind the arrests," said a resident.
