21-year-old alleges gang rape, police launch probe

According to the police, the woman who lives with her family in Seelampur, alleged on Saturday that one of her neighbours, with the help of her mother and sisters, called her at their house and offered her a drink.

A 21-year-old woman has alleged that she was gang raped by two men at her neighbour’s house in north east Delhi on May 4. Police have registered a case and are probing the allegations.

According to the police, the woman who lives with her family in Seelampur, alleged on Saturday that one of her neighbours, with the help of her mother and sisters, called her at their house and offered her a drink.

“She said she was talking to two men at her neighbour’s house when she had the drink. She said that she lost consciousness after having the drink and when she regained her senses she was in a park. She said she felt pain in her private parts and rushed back home where she reported the matter to her uncle, who later helped her approach the police,” said a police officer.

Police said that the woman refused to undergo a medical examination.
