A 26-year-old man, who was on his way home from work, was allegedly stabbed to death by some unidentified assailants when he resisted their robbery attempt in northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagari area on Wednesday night, police said.
“The incident came to light at 11pm and was reported from a bus depot in Sunder Nagari area near Nand Nagari. The victim has been identified as Nitin Kumar who used to work at a private firm. Kumar was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” said a
police officer. Police said he was a resident of Sunder Nagari.
Meanwhile, three people, who have allegedly been involved in several cases of robbery and snatching in Delhi, including a recent robbery of R8 lakh from a businessman in outer Delhi’s Vijay Vihar were arrested on Thursday, police said. “The arrested have been identified as Tajdar Hussian Khan, 35, Ahsan Qureshi, 26 and Sumit Kumar, 25. We have recovered Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, vehicles and property worth lakhs of rupees from their possession,” said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (outer).
Police said they started their probe after the victim, Ashok Kumar lodged a complaint on February 3, alleging that he had been robbed minutes before he was about to reach his house after withdrawing money from Punjab National Bank branch in Rohini.
