The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was allegedly not consulted before Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani and his wife Tina were called last week as prosecution witnesses in the 2G spectrum scam case, according to agency sources.

The decision to call Ambani and his wife was allegedly taken by the agency's special public prosecutor, according to a senior CBI official. The court-appointed counsel had allegedly summoned the additional prosecution witnesses and the CBI was not consulted about the decision, according to the official.
