Three persons, including two female tele-callers, have been arrested by the crime branch of the Delhi Police for allegedly cheating around one hundred people of over R80 lakh on the pretext of installing mobile phone tower at their properties.
The gang was operating from their office in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar since January 2010. The arrested persons are Ravi Kumar Kejriwal, mastermind of the racket, and two tele-callers, Preeti alias Neha and Sonia.
The duo tele-callers were paid R5,000 per month as salary and R200 for every customer they enticed. Police are looking for two more female tele-callers. Police have seized four bank accounts, opened by Kejriwal on fictious names, in which customers were asked to deposit the money for installation of mobile phone towers.
